- Long / Short
- A position that profits from a price rise / from a price fall.
- Maker / Taker
- An order that rests in the book / an order that executes immediately against the book. On OFFCODE both pay the same fee.
- Mark price
- The reference price computed by the venue, used for PnL and liquidation.
- Funding
- A periodic payment between longs and shorts that keeps the perpetual close to the index; OFFCODE keeps none of it.
- Notional
- Position size × mark price.
- Margin
- The collateral backing the position. Isolated: only that position's. Cross: shared by the positions on the same asset.
- Liquidation
- Forced close by the risk engine when margin falls below maintenance.
- ROE
- Return on the allocated margin.
- Network
- The blockchain a coin is sent through (e.g. Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum).
- Confirmations
- Blocks mined after the transaction; they define when a deposit is credited.
- TX hash
- The unique identifier of a transaction on the blockchain, copyable from the history.
- Grid
- A strategy of staggered orders across price bands.
- Allocation
- The amount you put into a copy account; it sizes the replicated positions.
- Daily cut-off
- The time a CLOSED day's yield becomes withdrawable: 8 pm ET, the next day. Yield still coming in on the current day does not count.
